Community center open to the neighborhood and nature 

주민들이 산책하듯 편하게 접근해서 자연과 여과생활을 즐기며 담소를 나눌 수 있는 커뮤니케이션 센터를 제안한다.

We propose a communication center that residents can easily access while taking a stroll, enjoying nature and leisure activities, and engaging in casual conversations. 

장평면은 너른 들판 넘어 산들에 의해 병풍처럼 둘러 싸여 있고 보성강과 만나는 용강천이 마을을 관통한다. 옹기종기 모여 있는 마을의 경사지붕 건물들은 자연 경관과 어우러진 풍경을 자아낸다.

Jangpyeong-myeon is surrounded like a folding screen by mountains beyond the vast open fields. Yonggang Stream intersects the village as it meets the Boseong River. The cluster of sloped-roof buildings in the village creates a harmonious landscape that blends seamlessly with the natural scenery.  

산과 하천으로 둘러 싸인 부지 주변에는 마을 주민들이 빈번하게 이용하는 시설과 이를 이용하기 위해서 이동하는 동선들이 존재한다. 장평 커뮤니케이션 센터의 마을과 자연을 향해 열린 공간들은 주민들이 만나서 담소를 나누거나 물소리와 새소리를 들으며 산의 경관을 즐기는 쉼터이자 마을의 다양한 이벤트들을 담을 수 있는 장소이다. 이 공간들은 내부의 프로그램들과 연계하여 주민들이 더욱 풍요로운 환경에서 문화 및 복지활동을 영위할 수 있도록 해 준다.

The site, surrounded by mountains and streams, features facilities frequently used by residents, along with pathways connecting these facilities. The open spaces of the Jangpyeong Communication Center, oriented toward the village and nature, serve as gathering places where residents can meet, chat, and enjoy the sound of water and birds while taking in the mountain views. These spaces also provide venues for various village events. Integrated with the center’s internal programs, they create an enriched environment where residents can engage in cultural and welfare activities, fostering a more fulfilling community life.
