햇살담은 어린이집

경희궁자이1단지 어린이집 / 인테리어 디자인

해당 어린이집은 경희궁자이1단지아파트에 위치한 단지 내 어린이집이다. 구조의 특성상 정면에는 창이 있지만 배면과 측면에는 창이 없어 채광과 통풍에 취약한 구조를 가졌고, 면적에 비해 요청 인원이 많아 놀이공간을 충분히 줄 수 없는 요구 조건을 가지고 있었다.

The daycare center is located within the Kyunghee Palace Xa-i 1st Complex Apartments. Structurally, it has windows on the front but none on the back and sides, making it vulnerable to inadequate lighting and ventilation. Additionally, the high number of occupants relative to the area means that adequate play space cannot be provided.

처음 현장을 방문했을 때, 각 실의 문이 닫혀있는 유희실과 이어진 복도는 암흑과도 같았다. 어두운 개미굴에 이어진 작은방들처럼...

When I first visited the site, the corridor connected to the playroom, with each room’s door closed, was like darkness itself. It was like small rooms connected to a dark anthill…

현장 방문 후 계획의 목표는 명확해졌다. 빛은 최대한 어린이집 내부를 끌어들이며, 공간의 위계가 문으로 나눠지지 않고 연속성을 가져 모든 문을 열었을 때 어린이집 전체가 하나의 놀이터로 읽혀 작지만, 작지 않은 놀이터 같은 어린이집을 계획하고자 했다.

After visiting the site, the goal for the plan became clear. The aim was to bring in as much light as possible into the daycare, and to have a continuity of space where the hierarchy is not divided by doors. When all doors are open, the entire daycare should read as one playground, creating a space that is small yet not small, like a playground itself.
