서귀포시 예래동 주민센터 / 현상설계공모

 돌담으로 이루어진 마을의 길들이 만나는 곳에 위치한 넓은 진입마당, 올레길의 담장이 내부로 스며든 로비, 내외부 툇마루가 이어진 북카페, 북카페와 연계되어 있는 다목적 안마당은 마을주민들과 예래로를 지나가는 관광객들의 휴식과 담소를 위한 장소로서, 사람들의 일상적인 만남을 유도하고 예래동의 아름다운 자연경관을 배경으로 다채로운 이벤트가 일어나는 장소이다.

The expansive entry courtyard located at the intersection of village paths lined with stone walls, the lobby infused with the essence of the Olle trail’s fences, the book cafe connected by inner and outer toetmaru (a traditional Korean wooden porch), and the multi-purpose courtyard linked to the book cafe serve as spaces for the villagers and tourists passing through Yerae to rest and converse. These areas foster everyday encounters and host a variety of events against the backdrop of Yerae-dong’s beautiful natural scenery.

  이들 공간은 투명성을 최대한 확보하여 공간과 공간 사이, 내외부의 경계가 모호한 열린 공간으로 계획되었다. 건물의 입구에 위치한 퐁낭은 방문객을 반기고 댓돌은 쉼터를 제공한다. 마을의 길들을 여결하고 있는 돌담은 그 기능에 따라 크기와 높이가 변화하며, 수평 동선을 이어주는 담장, 앉아서 휴식을 취하거나 담소를 나눌 수 있는 툇마루, 그리고 수직동선을 유도하는 수직벽으로서 열린 공간들을 연결해 주는 역할을 한다.

These spaces are designed to maximize transparency, creating open areas where the boundaries between spaces and between the interior and exterior are ambiguous. The pond at the entrance of the building welcomes visitors, while the stepping stones provide a place to rest. The stone walls that connect the paths of the village vary in size and height according to their function, serving as fences that continue the horizontal circulation, toetmaru where one can sit and rest or have a conversation, and vertical walls that guide the vertical movement, connecting the open spaces.
